Qi is the energy of life which is present in every
living thing. In Chinese Medicine, Qi is the energy of life which is
present in every living thing. The unimpeded and balanced circulation of
Qi is considered essential for our mental, physical and spiritual
well-being.
Roots & Branches™
consists of moves that generate Qi, circulate and unblock Qi, apply the
Qi to nourish the system, and return the Qi to the deepest level, that
of Jing Qi, associated from time immemorial with health, spirit, and
longevity.
You will practice relaxing tai chi postures and
movements, plus self-care exercises to maintain or regain your health.
By the end of this course, you will be able to practice on your own to
support your well-being & health for the rest of your life.
In the 1970's, Professor Cheng Man-Ch'ing assigned
T'ai Chi postures and massages to his patients to aid in their healing.
Combined with breathing, they had a powerful effect, not just on the
body, but on spirit, will, and sense of destiny. Professor's Senior
Student, Patrick Watson, preserved this work with Pat Gorman, M.Ac., and
she developed it into Roots & Branches with Gerrie Sporken, Ac.M. Both
are T'ai Chi Legacy Holders and practitioners of Chinese Medicine in the
5 Element Worsley Tradition.
The course can be joined by anyone, young and old. No
prior training is required. |
